1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
Pre-production – research and planning
During the process of constructing this product, it was vital to know how to use
the equipment effectively: for example, the HD camera, dolly and the tripod.
Due to digital technology, I was able to research and plan our ideas which was
stress-free and acceptable because I had access to information on IMDB which
is an online database of information related to movies, television
shows, actors, production crew personnel, in visual entertainment mediato get
audience ratings for a thriller film that I analysed. I couldn’t watch the film on
YouTube although it’s limited because they have been taking off due to
copyright restriction.
The use of digital technology made researching easier because we had access
in using software’s like slideshare, prezi which is a cloud-based presentation
and storytelling tool for exploring and sharing ideas on a virtual canvas which
helped us present our ideas professionally. Our researching and planning was
affected by digital technology in a positive way because we communicated
through Facebook, blackberry messenger to get audience feedback and also
discuss our idea for the sequence. We learnt how to use motion, garage band,
live type which was useful throughout the process of the opening sequence.

2. Production – filming
The process of HD digital camera – I notice that the quality of the HD camera
was effect compare the camera we used for our preliminary task. I also notice
that. I can easily view, delete, and rewind etc footages quickly than the camera
we used in the p task. However at the production stage, technology is not the
most important thing, the most important thing is having a quiet set when
nobody is talking, and making sure my filming is at the right shot at the right
time. I also made sure, we choreographed before we began filming the actual
scene because it alert the cast to be fully prepare and professional. Eventually
what I filmed was what I was left with which can be improved during editing.

Post Production - editing “Final Cut Pro”
We used a range of different programs in order to create a film opening
effectively. We used Final Cut Pro which is a non-linear video editing
software developed by Macromedia Inc. and then Apple Inc. It allows users
to log and transfer video onto a hard drive (internal or external), where it can
be edited, processed, and output to a wide variety of formats. Digital
technology has had an enormous impact on what I can do because it allowed
me to become more creative by providing me with sufficient equipment to
make a successful opening sequence. For example I used motion which is
a software application produced by Apple Inc.It is used to create and
edit motion graphics, titling for video production and film production, and 2D
and 3D compositing for visual effects. The major thing about digital technology
is that I could make sufficient and insufficient things, It also gave me a chance

3. to use colour correction to make the contrast of the sequence more brighter
and visually exciting. It also allowed me to put in the title sequence I produced
on motion. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast to suit the thriller genre.
If it was analogue I wouldn’t had a made that opening sequence in that way. I
have learnt a lot of specifics and it has had an impact on my work.
We learnt that digital technology allows me to access information quickly for
example on IMDB, YouTube, etc. when we were researching; it was easy to
watch extreme content on YouTube.
