Julian Mason has served as Director of Finance at CEN since 2003. He has improved the organization's accountability, traceability, and budget management through the introduction of activity-based budgeting and costing. His actions have modernized CEN's accounting practices. The financial relations with the European Commission are especially complex, but Julian influenced officials to achieve a workable interpretation of regulations for CEN and resolve long-standing contractual disputes. Professionally diligent and hard-working, Julian will be an asset for any senior appointment, though he is relocating to Switzerland for personal reasons and leaving CEN.
