Anyone who has been on Twitter for an extended period of time at least four
months or more and has been extremely active may have experienced being
banned from using their account or downtime while Twitter was doing routine
maintenance to upgrade the site even if for just a few hours. This article is to
explore what to do before and during if your account is shut down and you are
denied access to it. Below are a few things to keep in mind.
1. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket and if you’re going to put all your
eggs in one basket, don’t drop the basket. By this I mean have more than
one Twitter Account. On your secondary account you may want to ensure
you engage your core group of followers, so in the event your primary
account is shut down you are able to communicate with your core
followers and the rest of the Twitter Community through them.
2. Your Internet Marketing Campaign should encompass more than just
Twitter. Despite the hype you’ll be wise to stay active on other social
media and micro-blogging sites such as Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin and
wherever your current and future clients are as well as industry peers alike.
Remember as it relates to business any social media and micro-blogging
site including Twitter is merely a tool to do what you do best in
communicating with current and future clients, suppliers, distributors and
other entities involved in helping you run a successful business online.

2. 3. As you network with people and businesses on Twitter you’ll want to
advance those relationships by getting phone numbers, emails, doing
teleseminars, webinars and meeting in person. Always be safe when doing
these things. As you meet more people offline you’ll be able to engage
some of your followers and vice versa should you be banned from your
Twitter Account or unable to access it for some reason.
