The overall objective of Career Day is
To help our students make the connection between education and their potential future careers. We
all understand the importance of career development exposure for the youth of today. Your
participation in I.T.H.S. Career Day Fair 2014 will afford you the opportunity to share the
intricacies of your profession with our students. All participants will be stationed at a booth in our
school’s gymnasium. Students as well as teachers and some parents will be walking around
and gathering information from you about your profession that will help them make informed
decisions about their future careers. Information can include but not limited to education and/or
skills needed for your profession, job description and typical day, salary scale, why you chose this
profession, types of personalities that would do well in this field, level of demand in this field, and
anything else that you think important to our students to fully understand what you do. You will also
have the chance to recruit students for summer non-paid internships.
We are expecting over 300 students to register for this event. The purpose of our Career Day is
to:
Develop student awareness of different career opportunities that are aligned with students’
individual skills, abilities, and interests in Scientific, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
(STEM) field.
Understand the relationship between educational achievement and career planning.
Create a seamless pipeline from the education environment to “the world of work” in
the 21st century.
Continue to develop partnerships between the community and the school.
We look forward to your participation in this event. If you have any questions or require
additional information, you can contact me at 718-937-4270 or email:
You may enable JavaScript to see this email address.
The registration deadline is Friday May 15th, 2013. Completing the online form as soon as
possible will ensure booth space and adequate planning for this
event. http://ithsnyc.org/2013/pages/CareeerDayRegistrar2014
Thank you for your interest and involvement in I.T.H.S. You might bebelow the belief that the
antivirus software is sufficient to keep you protected in the ills of the web. This could be a foolish
premise, and one that can lead to your PC becoming infected with a fresh breed of computer ailment
called malware. Malware is insidious, as well as the fact that it's not understood or discovered by
many commercial antivirus systems means that it's is in a position to live on your computer at its
own leisure. Really Internet security services should encompass much more than a simple antivirus
or anti-malware program; they need to actively instruct users the best way to spot common Internet
security threats and the best way to avoid clicking on junk e mail as well as malicious websites that
are trying to undermine your system through insecure Internet browsers.Career Day and for taking
time out of your busy schedule to share your expertise and talents with our students.
Sincerely,
 -- Mrs. Ramirez
