3. 3. Innovation

It compasses the entire process, from idea to implementation, for the development of new products, services, methods, management practices and policies

 4. 4. Invention : Innovation

Invention: new concepts or products that derive from individual’s ideas or from scientific research.

 5. 5. Invention : Innovation

Innovation: commercialisation of the invention itself.

An invention may have little economic value, if at all. In order to monetise an invention it is necessary to transform it into innovation.

Customer, application or market

 6. 6. Innovation

... taking the invention and moving the ball ahead to market it and extend the idea.

Google didn't invent keyword text ads, but it did a lot with the mode

 7. 7. Innovation: Seven Cs

Crisis

Curiosity

Combination

Conversation

Co-evolution

Challenge

Commitment

 8. 8. Archimedes
 9. 9. Thinking v/s doing
 10. 10. Information Technology

When computer and communications technologies are combined, the result is information technology

IT: any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate, and / or disseminate information.

 11. 11. Information Technology

The study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware.

 12. 12. Role of Education

Focus on fundamentals rather than product

Follow standards

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) http://www.w3.org/

http://www.anybrowser.org/

http://www.anybrowser.com/

 13. 13. C++

Bjarne Stroustrup

 14. 14. Compiler

#include<iostream>

#include<string>

using namespace std;

int main(){

string s;

cout << "Enter first name followed by a newline ";

cin >> s;

cout << "Hello, " << s << ' ';

return 0; // this return statement isn't necessary

}

 15. 15. ISO C++

C++ has been standardised by ANSI (The American National Standards Institute), BSI (The British Standards Institute), DIN (The German national standards organisation), several other national standards bodies, and ISO (The International Standards Organisation). The ISO standard has been finalised and adopted by unanimous vote Nov 14, 1997. It was ratified in August 1998 by a 22-0 vote. The standard is ISO/IEC 14882.

 16. 16. User's problem

New software

Requirement of high end hardware

E-waste (Also Global Issue)

 17. 17. Solution

Platform neutral

Web centric

 18. 18. FSF

The Free Software Foundation

http://www.fsf.org/

UNESCO Free Software Portal

www.unesco.org/webworld/portal_freesoft/

 19. 19. Free Software

Richard Matthew Stallman

Fighting for essential freedoms for Computer Users since 1985

 20. 20. Open Source Software

http://www.opensource.org/

OS is a development method for software that harnesses the power of distributed peer review and transparency of process. The promise of open source is better quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to predatory vendor lock-in.

 21. 21. Open Source Software

The Open Source Initiative (OSI) is a non-profit corporation formed to educate about and advocate for the benefits of open source and to build bridges among different constituencies in the open-source community.

 22. 22. Software License

The software is licensed, not sold. This agreement only gives you some rights to use the software. Owner reserves all other rights. Unless applicable law gives you more rights despite this limitation, you may use the software only as expressly permitted in this agreement. In doing so, you must comply with any technical limitations in the software that only allow you to use it in certain ways.

 23. 23. Who reads license?

PC Pitstop included a clause in one of its own EULAs that promised anyone who read it, a "consideration" including money if they sent a note to an email address listed in the EULA. After four months and more than 3,000 downloads, one person finally wrote in. That person, by the way, got a check for $1,000 proving, at least for one person, that it really does pay to read EULAs

 24. 24. Why use proprietary S/W

Quality?

One throat to choke?

 25. 25. FOSS S/W

Web Server: Apache

RDBMS: MySQL PostgreSQL

Server side scripting language: PHP

Make use of CSS

 26. 26. Internet of Things

usually wireless and self-configuring, network between objects, such as household appliances.

The idea is as simple as its application is difficult. If all cans, books, shoes or parts of cars are equipped with minuscule identifying devices, daily life on our planet will undergo a transformation. Things like running out of stock or wasted products will no longer existost.

 27. 27. How to be innovator

Use cutting edge technologies

Solve your problem, problem of your family, friends, your city

If you solve your small problems, big problems may vanish

Use open standard

 28. 28.

Thank you.

[email_address]
