This document discusses the issue of underage drinking among teens. It defines teen drinking as consuming alcohol before the legal age and notes that teens are more likely to binge drink, which is drinking excessive amounts of alcohol in a short time. The effects of binge drinking discussed include brain cell loss and risk of brain damage and memory loss in adulthood, as well as uncontrollable actions while intoxicated. A survey of teens shows that while many drink, most do not drink to the point of passing out, but they do tend to do and say things they would not while sober after drinking.
