                                                              Our client is a professionally managed utility in North India, supplying
                                                               reliable and cost efficient electricity to 4 DISCOMS constituting 64
                                                               Districts and 168 Towns, with over 40 lakh consumers
                                                              It wanted to reform the power distribution sector during the 11th plan to
                                                               help reduce AT&C losses, bring about commercial viability, reduce
                                                               outages and interruptions, and increase consumer satisfaction

THE SOLUTION
HCL is setting up a smart grid that can intelligently integrate generators and consumers to balance supply and demand, and allow
greater robustness, efficiency and flexibility than the existing power systems. It will deliver electricity to customers’ homes and
control appliances to increase energy efficiency and reduce power use. To this end, HCL has:
    Prepared a Base-line Data System providing specialized features like Consumer Indexing, GIS Mapping, and Automatic
     Metering (AMR) on Distribution
    Provided an Enterprise GIS Application based on Miner & Miner ArcFM and ESRI ArcGIS Server technology, Transformers &
     Feeders, and Automatic Data Logging for all Distribution Transformers & Feeders and a SCADA / DMS system
    Undertaken Asset Mapping of the entire distribution including the adoption of IT applications for meter reading, billing &
     collection, energy accounting & auditing, and MIS
    Provided for redressal of consumer grievances and the establishment of IT enabled consumer service centers
Modules Developed: Meter Data Acquisition, Energy Audit, New Connection, Disconnection & Dismantling, GIS based customer
indexing & Asset Mapping – Miner & Miner ArcFM & ESRI ArcGIS Server implementation, Interfaces of GIS system with other
business systems like Work & Asset Management, Energy Audit, Meter Data, SCADA, Customer Care & Billing, GIS based
integrated network analysis module: Centralized customer care services, Management Information System, Web Self Services,
Identity and Access Management System, System Security Requirement
