One celebrity in particular who knows about the pressures of looking at their best is
Claire King. Claire King, who is 52, who stars in Coronation Street decided to have a
facelift in order to be offered more roles as an actress, because she says that TV
bosses do not offer good TV roles to actresses who are at an older age.
 Claire King, 52, who rose to fame playing the part as businesswoman Kim Tate on
Emmerdale had cosmetic surgery that lifted her jaw line in order to boost her
career prospects because she felt that being over a certain age that she just was
not being considered for particular roles as she says older women are
not considered sexy.
 Claire King now playing a role in Coronation Street says she had to have a facelift
to get work again because TV bosses only give roles to 'women of a certain age'.
This admission which has been made the actress who is 52 years old, who now plays
the role of Erika Holroyd in the TV show, will possibly spark a debate on the struggles
that older women on TV have to face.
Claire was a TV face for over 20 years. When she hit her 40s, the work she was being
offered did start to dry up.
