Ballet

 1. 1. Ballet
By Hailey McEwan
2. 2. Ballet
Ballet came from the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century French courts.
Ballets usually use classical music.
Ballet is usually slow and graceful.
Ballet dancers use strength, resilience, elegance and grace.
3. 3. Classical ballet
Most formal of the ballet styles.
Best known for its unique features and techniques, such as Pointe work , turn- out of the leg, and high extensions; its graceful, flowing, precise movements; and its ethereal qualities.
There are at least seven styles of training in classical ballet.
4. 4. Neoclassical ballet
Neoclassical ballet is the style of 20th century classical ballet exemplified by the works of George Balanchine.
Balanchine used flexed hands (and occasionally feet), turned-in legs, off-centered positions and non-classical costumes .
5. 5. Contemporary ballet
A form of dance influenced by both classical ballet and modern dance.
George Balanchine is often considered to have been the first pioneer of contemporary ballet.
Many of its concepts come from the ideas and innovations of 20th century modern dance, including floor work and turn-in of the legs.
6. 6. Positions
7. 7. Ballet
Ballet is a fun, graceful dance.
The costumes are all different colors and have different designs.
There is ballet and you can go on point shoes which is a higher level.
Ballet can be hard at first but if you practice you can always get better.
