1. Analysis of Questionnaire
In my first question I asked if people would buy a magazine that would come out fortnightly. 100% of
people said that they would be willing to do this so this helps me because I am able to find out more
news and compile it into magazine and therefore fit everyone’s needs in what they are reading.
In my second question I asked what price people would be willing to pay for a magazine that came
out fortnightly. 17 out of 20 people said that they would pay £1.50 or under for the magazine and
three out of 20 people said that they would be willing to pay £2-£3 for it. No-one was willing to pay
over £4 which didn’t surprise me due to the credit crunch no-one would realistically pay that much a
magazine. I thought that the cheapest price would be the most popular as people are always trying
to save money. Fewer people said that they would be willing to pay £2-£3 which would mean that
they would be accepting more from the magazine and therefore that would put more pressure on
me to try and deliver to the demand.

In the third question I wanted to know what types of articles people would be interested in reading.
100% of people said that they would rather read about varied artists then the same ones in each
issue. This makes it easier for me because there is more likely to be interesting news on different
artists rather than the same ones.
In my fourth question I asked if people would also like to read reviews in the magazines as well as
articles of artists. 12 out of 20 people said that they would also like to read reviews as well as the
articles. This puts little pressure on me because I now need to go and write for films and other music
so that I may giving consumers what they want in order for them keep buying the magazine.
In my fifth question I asked what the types of promotion would attract people. 13 out of 20 people
said that they would be attracted by posters which would be good for my magazine because many
people would then know about it and therefore I would get more consumers. 6 people said that they
would prefer to hear about the magazine through flyers being put through doors or passed around
and one person said that they would like to hear about it through word of mouth. I think I could
2. possibly make a few flyers to promote the magazine if that was what consumers wanted and then I
would be satisfying everyone.

In my sixth question I asked what would attract more people to the magazine if there was a main
image or many images. 15 out of 20 people said that they would be more attracted to a magazine if
it had a main image on the cover rather than many images. This will help me and my cover because I
now only have to make sure that the image for the cover is very good and will be attractive for
people to see.
In my seventh question I asked what colour scheme people would prefer to see on the cover. Black
and orange wasn’t popular at all so this easily ruled that option out. Black and white was very
popular with the respondents as 12 out of 20 people chose it. This is good for me because now along
with the image the magazine should look quite sophisticated for the genre that I have chosen it on
and therefore my magazine should stand out against the others of its type (rock).
In my last question I asked if people would like to see any promotions in the magazine. 12 out of 20
said that would like to see promotions. I think that putting these in would be a good idea because it
breaks up the magazine a little because you’d have a mixture of articles and promotions along with
some reviews as well. I only asked this question because I know that some people find many
promotions in magazines a bit tedious and find them a little pointless because they promote items
that the consumer doesn’t really need. When constructing my magazine I think that I will take my
consumers into consideration and only put in a few promotions of items that they may need.
