Podcasting is: A podcast is a series of digital media files, usually either digital audio  Watch podcasting in plain or video, that is made available for download via web english syndication en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PODcasti  Podcast example for a ng classroom- Victoria on DNA  Video podcast 3rd Grade  I am going to use podcasting to “read” tests  How can you use it?
    • Audacity  Simple way to make your own podcast  Demonstrate  Need to download!!  Best to download at another time so we don’t jam it and slow it down!  What now?
    • Web publishing Good way to show what’s going on in your room Can share with relatives all  Would you work hard on a over! Can get familiar with project for only 1 person to see technology. Not stuck to the same it? restrictions that they used to be-  When you do well, don’t you I promise, the kids will wow you! want to share?  Let kids share what they do, instill a sense of pride and let them use the tools they will need!
    • Digital Storytelling- Who has heard of it? Who has used it? Let students get pictures from the internet or set them loose with a digital camera.  Simple, any grade/level can do How can you use this in the it classroom?  Create great memories  (these take a while to load, use bookmark)  1st graders: love is  High school example  Who wants to come and try one?
    • Windows Movie Maker- Who’s heard of it? Who’s used it? How can your students benefit from movie maker?  Here is a project done by students Check it out on your computer using windows movie maker this and play around with it. Check summer. This was put online out the cool “automovie” feature. using mydeo- a program like Easy enough for some of our youtube, but is school safe. lower students to use.  Good with flipcams, different video clips, or another way to use digital cameras.  Here is another movie made using movie maker- an update on the picture slideshow!
    • Slidecasting A slidecast is a term that is used to describe an audio podcast that is combined with a  Slideshare.net (access from slideshow portaportal) allows students to publish their power points.  They can even add audio- great for students who have a fear of presenting!  Here is an audio free example from summer school.

    • Twitter Microblogging is a blog that allows up to 140 character long  Twittering in plain English posts.
