The power point was clearly set out in a logical way and headed appropriately which made it easy to understand.
The biography gave us a good introduction to the life and works of Antonin Artaud.
We found that Artaud also influenced interest in the film industry and cinema by writing the script of the first surrealist film, The Seashell and The Clergyman. This was however not included in the presentation.
It was interesting that they had stated ‘he tried to connect the performers and the audience with the honesty and truth within themselves, which in that era had been lost in a lot of people.’ We felt that this meant he was trying to move forward yet he was bringing ideas back from the past.
The presentation was not referenced using the Harvard system.
The group however included different sources of research methods by using books as well as the internet.
We found that the bibliography was useful as it summarised all the key pointers of his career.
Application Of Ideas
We found that when reading the presentation the font that had been chosen was not easily readable.
They could have improved the presentation by adding visual references. This would have helped build up an image of their practitioner.
By using quotes at the bottom of pages gave us an insight of other peoples thoughts.
We realised that there was no information about any problems Artaud may have had to come across therefore it missed out a lot of evaluation points of his work and different views other practitioners and directors may have had on him.
One problem that we discovered with his work was a debate over the ‘relationship between art and madness’ this may cause a problem that people may not take his work seriously.
