Subdomains are URLs for different sections of your website. They use your main domain name and a prefix.
Subdomains are URLs for different sections of your website. For example, my domain is GINZBURGPRESS.COM. A subdomain domain might be SUPPORT.GINZBURGPRESS.COM.
Create a new database in the cPanel.
Go to Databases
MySQL Database Wizard
Create a new database:
Go to next step
Create a Database Username:
Create a password:
Click on Create User
Select All Privileges
Click on Next Step
Download WordPress from the repository.

Save it to your computer.
Extract the zipped wordpress file
Rename this file wp-config-sample.php
to wp-config.php.
You can right click on the file to rename it to wp-config.php.
Open the file in a text editor such as notepad or notepad++ to add in the necessary information to connect the site to the database.
Upload the wordpress files to your subdomain.
Upload the entire wordpress contents you just extracted to your new subdomain directory with the newly changed wp-config.php file.
You can use your FTP program or your can upload the files from within your cPanel.
When the upload is done, navigate to the URL of your new subdomain.
For example it could be similar to this http://stagesite.mydomamin.com/wp-con...
You’ll see the install screen.
Select English
Fill out the rest of the information for your new site.
Hit Install WordPress
3. How to setup a Subdomain
Subdomains are URLs for different sections of your website.

your domain is GINZBURGPRESS.COM a sub-domain of your
domain might be SUPPORT.GINZBURPGRESS.COM.
Login into your cPanel.
Go to Domains > Subdomains
In the Subdomain field enter a name for your subdomain.
If creating a staging server name it stagesite.
Example URL will be stagesite.yourdomain.com
Hit Create.
You’ll see a message similar to this:
stagesite.yourdomain.com has been created!

10. Make the following changes
inside the config.php file:

define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password_here');
11. Upload the wordpress
files to your subdomain

12. FTP your files
Use Filezilla to upload the wordpress files to your
newly created subdomain.
When the upload is done, navigate to the URL of
your new subdomain.
For example:
www.stagesite.mydomain.com/wp-config.php
You’ll see the install screen.
Select English or another language.
13. Welcome
Fill out the rest of the information for your new site.
Site Title:
Username:
Password:
email:
Hit Install WordPress
You’ll see the Success! Screen Login
14. Success!
You should also be receiving an email that you have
a new WordPress site.
Navigate to the site to ensure it’s been properly
installed.
