The Milky Way
What is our sun like???? 109 earths fit across the sun Active: 4.6 billion years Could still be alive for about 5 billion more years
Our sun Closest star to Earth Sunspots are bigger than you think they are. (I’m not saying look at the sun to see the spots)
What consists in the inner solar system?? Planets: (including the asteroid belt) Mercury Venus Earth Mars Each planet has few or no moons
Do you know what inner planets are known as??? Terrestrial (same characteristics) Planets
What are the outer planets???? Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune _____________________________________ Also known as Gas giants
What do you know about the outer planets??? The planets have rings and many moons – opposite of what the inner planets have
Differences Separated by the asteroid belt Outer planets- gas giants Inner planets – solid surfaces, able to walk on Outer planets – made of gases
What is the future of the solar system?? Vacation to the mars Vacation to the moon In about 1.1 billion years from now, the sun will be about 10% brighter and 3.5 billion years 40% brighter than it is now
