people. Klaipeda is situated near the river Dane,
Kuršiai Lagoon and near the Baltic sea.
3. What Does The Name Of The City Mean?
Maybe the name of
the city means that
the knights of the
order, who lived in
Memelburgh Castle,
laid tribute under
the people and were
called by them
gluttons of bread.
4. A legend tells about two brothers
who were looking for a place to
settle their tribe. They started
quarreling. One of them decided
to settle on the coast of the
lagoon, but the other did not like
the swampy place and went
further on. When he did not come
back the first brother followed his
footsteps searching for him, but
he found just a terrible footprint
(Lith. klaiki pėda). Thus the
settlement was called Klaiki peda
and later became Klaipeda.

Cancer Support Centre.
There were more than 2500 people
participating in the run. The entire
