  • 20k websites A year after the initial 1.0 release, Drupal Commerce is currently running the eCommerce of 17,000 merchants across the world. This is an unprecedented growth in the history of eCommerce softwares. Drupal Commerce has obviously minded a very obvious gap in eCommerce where Content, user experience and social features are in the center of the experience. How and why did this happen? How do people smartly use Drupal Commerce? What is the future of Drupal Commerce and the very cool features that come with it? This is the topic of this presentation
  • Commerce Guys is the Drupal Commerce Company Created in 2010 Employs more than 50 employees Based in France, the USA and the UK VC Funded, raised $6M so far Backed by Open Ocean, the founders of mySQL
  • It is now far more complex ! Brands and products are everywhere (Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, market places Ebay or Amazon) Customer’s acquisition has become super expensive (you can’t be profitable if you need to acquire all your traffic on Google Adwords). Therefore, eCommerce companies are building agressive Content strategies. eCommerce is no longer about additional revenues. It’s something anyone has to do to maintain the business alive. All this happens in a multi device context
  • How does DC solve the problem? Drupal Commerce brings flexibility. Most of the existing softwares enable to change the paintings on the wall, or choose a payment gateway. But it ’ s not enough. There is no longer 1 experience fit them all. No other solution provides as much flexibility as Drupal Commerce. It is based on a the best content management system (I mean Drupal) that let you build a successful content strategy you to generate strong, natural, free traffic. It ’ s infinitely extensible (Drupal comes with more than 16,000 modules). So with DrupalCommerce, you can either build a very simple site to the most sophisticated one. And it comes with NO LICENSE FEES
  • And it works ! Drupal Commerce obviously hit it’s targets. In 9 months, it empowers 17k sites and several additional thousands every month. We have clients everywhere on the globe. And some very nice and famous brands are currently using it, or in the process of building their store with it.
  • We’ve also been recognized by some leading experts and analysts. Gartner named us to their Cool Vendor List in eCommerce We won the Microsoft Biz Spark European Summit We were recognized by eTail as a rising star.
  • No eCommerce on the site itself Full eCommerce experience on mobile Typical use case: “Save time by not queuing in the restaurant. I buy online, I pick up my meal with 0 waiting time (en tous cas, c’est la vision)
  • Global recognized brands like Monopoly, Scrabble, Trial, Risk, Memory… Can be customized with Themes (Disney, Hello Kitty, Beatles…) Large catalog, partly sold on site, partly referring to partners like Amazon Faceted search, Facebook connect, lots of social features and strong Facebook based experience
  • Integrated Drupal Commerce Back-End to an existing site Sellling stamps, shipping services, fishing licenses… Enambled high volume transactions Xmas season traffic Front-end not empowered by Drupal Commerce
  • Integrated Drupal Commerce Back-End to an existing site Enambled high volume transactions at peak holiday traffic

  • Thousands of Online learning Course… Lots of products Multi-language / Powerful Translations Faceted search to find just what you need “ We have implemented business models which we did not think when we started the project. And it was ridiculously easy since Drupal Commerce is so flexible”.
  • Chais d'Oeuvre is a combination of editorial content including large video requirements, community features and eCommerce features.  We knew we wanted a "low level" framework in the first place and became totally convinced that Drupal Commerce was the right choice after installing Drupal Commerce and getting involved with the Commerce Guys team in the first place. To build the website, we decided to work with Makina Corpus, a French digital agency with recognized Drupal skills. They did a good job customizing the software to fit exactly our expectations
