Cloud based market research service for Foreign companies with
consumer centric (B2C) products & entering Indian markets
Problems of SME companies planning to
venture in Indian markets
Want to venture in India How Indian people We want to go to India – but without
But don’t know where to Would perceive our getting a feeler of local consumers
Start product we cannot go directly & launch
Our business there! Where to find
India seems huge! Should How much Rupees are Indians
                                                                                         these consumers!
We start from Southern willing to pay for our product
Part or launch from Delhi We can produce locally
Region (north) Asked a market research company for a quote
And sell locally but for that & they gave a quote of 20K USD for a consumer
We need a good local partner research in India ! Its very expensive
India! Very far!
As a SME venturing into
India impossible !We don’t ASEAN market looks good,
Know local market. But Indian market seems bigger!

    How can I connect to
    Local distributors
? I wish we can try out in India

Local business is very tough, To survive
                                                                                 We need to go overseas

              As a result
              • India is still seen as a land of mystery than opportunity
              • Companies want to sample their products with local consumers but market
                  research costs are prohibitve
              • As a SME, one cannot throw away local business & go into foreign land – so
                  local partners are necessary
              • Not really sure if India is the right market ** All photos are IPR of individual owners or companies.
Image of India as of even today

        Curry, Elephant, Bengal Tiger,
        TajMahal, IT, Maths, Ganges
        river!

But the vibrant 1.2 Billion consumer gets missed out!!

** All photos are IPR of individual owners or companies.
How to do a market research in such a complex
            market such as India

Information is sparse – not accurate – Entire country divided
into different regions, languages, religion, social structure –
So much so that it is extremely difficult to get a handle on
pricing, positioning of the product !

** All photos are IPR of individual owners or companies.
Current Consumer market research
• Prohibitive Costs (Costs around 20K- 30K USD approx if
done through a market research firm)
(If done by self – Travel costs (approx 2000 USD), Local stay cost (approx 150 USD
per day), Local travel costs, Local allowance etc exceed again 10K USD)

• Visa Issues (unless one has a business visa – foreigners
who have recently visited India cannot visit immediately in
next 2 months) – so for some immediate need if one
decides to re-visit cannot do so (Disclaimer: Visa rules can change anytime)

• Connecting with Local consumers – Again you need a
local connection on ground. Even to recruit product
testing consumers – there is a cost – There are additional
costs of translation / local travel etc
Opportunities in Indian market – Growing at
approx 6%

                 All these products are
                 Still UNAVAILABLE in
                 Indian markets
Indian E-Commerce Scenario is growing!

People with credit card in middle class segment growing very rapidly

** All photos are IPR of individual owners or companies.
It becomes easier to do a small consumer centric market research
Cost Effective + An opportunity to sell /connect to local distributors
