  • Aberdeen has many old buildings. The Town House The ‘ Mercat ’ Cross The Citadel
  • There are some new buildings too! This huge glass cube is the new library for the university. It opened in August 2011.
  • This is Aberdeen harbour. There used to be fishing boats but now the boats are there to go out and support the oil-rigs in the North Sea.
  • The oil industry is very important in Aberdeen.
  • Aberdeen has won ‘ Britain in Bloom ’ many times.
  • Flowers grow in lots of places .
  • Every year in Hazlehead Park Aberdeen hosts their Highland games. There is music, dancing and sporting competitions.
