Question four update
1.
2. Our research
• To find out who my target audience were and what they liked I carried out
questionnaires, got feedback from social networking sites such as Facebook and created an
online poll.
• Firstly, I went to Facebook to see which was the most popular film genre among our target audience (15-
25 year old males and females). My results were obvious. Comic book based films were dramatically less
popular amongst my peers therefore this was perfect for our small audience which could be developed to
suit others.
3. Polls
• I then took this further to find out about my target audience and what they
enjoyed, mainly relating to comic book based superhero films.
• The poll helped fuel how we could attract our audience and what kind of audience
they would be.
• Here is the link to the poll..

• Followed by the results
4. What I found out?
• I found that comic book based films mostly
relate to a male audience therefore I tried to
attract a female audience by using a female
protagonist to make this more relatable for
females I.E Cat Woman.
5. Further research
• Further research and evidence from my poll made it easier to see more about my
audience.
Firstly, it was results from the poll and observation that I found out what media
sources my audience used because of what they did in their spare time, such as
high tech phones to listen to music, browse the internet and watch videos on
youtube. E.G iPhones and Android phones.
6. Tech
• My audience clearly used technology to stay up to date and
current with film trailers and news.
• The tech mainly used by my audience are as followed:
• iPhones , iPods and iPads
• Samsung Tablets and phones
• HTC phones
• Laptops/Macs
• Which can all be used to attract my audience through trailers.
7. Our film opening
• During my film opening I used a laptop as the
main prop to make my protagonist more
relatable for me audience, my protagonist is
also seen to play music which again, makes
her more relatable to our audience as she
enjoys the same things as they do according
to my research.
8. Clothes
• As my audience are aged 15-25 year olds, they are either still in
education, whether that’s school, college or university or starting a low
paid job but still wish to keep up with the latest trends.
• This means that clothing wise the shops they would prefer are as followed:
(I know this from experience with being within the ages myself)
New Look
Primark
River Island
H&M
Matalan
9. Free time
• Although studying, obviously, is one main thing that my age group do, there are other main
examples, which I found out from my poll.
• Socialising via Facebook , Twitter and Instagram.
• Fast food, who doesn’t like MCDONALDS and Subway.
• Games, either online, XBOX (like me and most of my friends) or PS3
• Cinema
• Shopping
• Listening to music
• Which are all great ways to find out about films, through adverts, posters and trailers.
10. TV Programmes
• A lot of my audience will spend some time
watching TV and other polls online show the
main TV programmes currently watched by
this audience:
• The only way is Essex.
• Doctor Who.
• The Walking Dead
• Britain's Got Talent
11. Films – The biggie
• The main films watched by my audience are
apparent by asking my fellow peers;
• Twilight
• The Avengers
• The Hunger Games
• 500 Days Of Summer
• Anuvahood
• Sinister
• Batman
12. Who wouldn’t be interested?
• From my research of asking people over the
age of 30, it was apparent they had no interest
in my film opening as my main protagonist is a
teenager, which they now seem to find
difficult to relate too.
13. And Finally..
• Some comments from my poll provided a few
more bits of information about my audience.
