How did you use new media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
1. How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction, research,
planning and evaluation
stages?
2. Research
YouTube: In order to look at existing product to find conventions of forms
and genre of a music video I looked at a lot of examples shown on this
media platform. This also enabled me to see the importance in key
conventions such as editing to the beat and also made me understand the
three variations of music videos which are performance, abstract and
narrative.
Google: A key platform in looking into the conventions for my ancillary
texts which in essence would help me create a more professional product.
My findings using Google as a search platform included looking into
existing websites and existing digipaks.
Wikipedia: I used Wikipedia to find out the history of post-punk revival and
music videos in order to gain a better and more clear understanding of
what I was going to be creating. This was necessary as I wanted to create
a stronger more conventional product that would be equally successful as
others created
3. Planning
Windows Movie Maker: used to make my animatic which would help when
editing as I would know when to make my transitions and also was a way
to introduce myself to editing to the beat.
Blogger: I used Blogger as a way to organise all of my research and
planning. As things would overlap it was an easy way to access all the
information I had found out and also so others could use my blog as a
source of information across Web 2.0
Dell: Most of my work was done on the Dell computers in the media faculty
at my college. Dell also allowed me to use other source of platforms such
as GoAnimate and Slideshare which would make my blog have different
media device on it.
4. Production
Sony: I used a Sony camera to film all of my footage on and take the
pictures for my ancillary texts. All these produced a high definition products
and therefore, were very effective in making it look professional.
Adobe Photoshop: I used Photoshop to edit and create my digipak and
images for my website i.e tour poster. This programme made it possible to
make a high quality and professional product by allowing me to add
conventional things such as a barcode.
Final Cut Pro: I used this programme to edit my video at college. These
made it possible to have all the editing in one place and not have any
problems in regards to viruses.
Weebly: I used this website to create my own website. It was very simplistic
and easy to understand which I feel helped massively when creating a
professional promotional campaign.
5. Evaluation
Slideshare: was an easy way to use different types of media devices on my
blog as I could create PowerPoint and it would be all shown through one
useful link, instead of having picture running down my blog this helped
create and organised look to my blog.
GoAnimate: to give my blog character and make audience feedback more
understandable.
