- Did it keep your attention throughout the whole MV thus far? Yes? No? Why?
For the most part, the MV was successful at keeping my attention. The casting, filming
location selection and camera angle selection all seem to be carefully selected and
envisioned beforehand. The only location that seemed somewhat dull or different from the
others was the dance studio, perhaps due to awkward lighting.
- What did you think about the editing? What do I need to do in order to improve this
music video?
The editing demonstrated close attention to the music track itself along while keeping the
choreography in mind. The main concern with editing would be with the previously
mentioned lighting problem for the dance studio scenes. Perhaps manually adjust the
lighting to highlight the dancer during the editing process or dim down the sunlight coming
through the window so that the focus does not land on the window, but instead the dancer.
Right now, the attention lands on the bright light outside, not the dancer.
- Did the camera shots and editing able to project the emotions with the actor and the
music? Yes? No? Why?
I absolutely loved the camera angles for the shots in the shadow/dark room. The lighting
was also spot-on to really emphasize the dance, which is a vital part in a dance song like
Billie Jean. I previously read somewhere that for any film or video productions, one
shouldn’t stay on the same camera angle for more than four seconds, as it tends to cause
audience to lose interest fairly quickly. Most of the cuts were less than four seconds, which
successfully kept my attention all the way through; except perhaps the first actual dance cut,
which may have barely dragged on a little too long, but it is understandable with the way the
choreography is.
- What did you think about the actors, costumes, make-up, and location?
The actor was a great fit for the MV, it certainly shows that he seems to have a passion for
the music and dance. The costumes were well selected as well, especially the black suit
under the white light in the dark room. It created a very stunning image with the negative
space.

2. - Did you think that the music fits with the overall visuals? Were the actor and the
song in-synced? Did the music fit to the atmosphere of the MV?
The MV and the song both work in a suitable harmony, and the actor plays a very big part in
the success of this product. Even though there were a couple of minor things that caused
the outcome to perhaps not shine as much as it could have, it does have the potential to
improve in the finer and more detailed aspects.
