• In order to edit our music video, we used Final Cut
Pro X.
• Although I am quite familiar with using this
programme since I have also used it for my opening
sequence last year. I have learned to use this
programme to edit in certain shots, add certain
features, filters as well as special effects that it
suited for the film opening sequence. We also
learned to add in sountrack as well to go on top of
the visuals.
• As for this preliminary task, I have learned to use the
multi-cam techniques that was taught during our
workshop session. As well as using the ‘beat-
markers’ which helped us cut in shots in time to the
beat.
Multi-Cam on Final Cut Pro X
From the previous film opening sequence task, I
have used my own camera which is a Canon
600D. Which I personally thought that bought the
best quality to the opening sequence.
However for this music video preliminary task, I
have decided to use 2 HD cameras that were
provided by the school. This is because we
wanted to try the multi-cam technique that was
taught to us during the workshop session.

• I have also kept up into a
momentum to put every single
progress I have made through my
media blog in order to record
everything I have done before and
after I have filmed my music video.

The other technologies that I have used is the social
media.
I have used Twitter to update every single progress
which also goes straight to my media blog.
I have used YouTube and Vimeo to upload the actual
footage of the music video. The reason to why I have
used both social sites is because some countries like
Singapore cannot access Vimeo (as I have been told).
Therefore it is easier for me to show people from
other parts of the world to give their opinion and
improvement in the future.
As for Facebook, I have used this (along side Twitter)
to keep in contact with the people who had agreed to
help me to give me constant feedback every time we
upload any sort of improvement to our music video.
Social Media
Due to the short period of time, I think that I
wasn’t able to use as much editing techniques
as I have with the opening sequence. Which
meant that my partner and I weren’t able to
play around with the Final Cut Pro.
In terms of the equipment, I felt that that the
school camera did not reach the same quality
filming as I have with my personal Canon
camera.

“ What digital technologies are you familiar with, how have you used them in the past and on this production, is there a technology you want to develop in your main music video?”
