    1. The Purpose of the Bible Eddie Arthur Wycliffe Bible Translators www.kouya.net
    2. Who was the Bible written to? Who was the Bible written for?
    3. The Bible wasn’t written to you!
    4. The Bible was written for you!
    5. What are the implications of these two statements?
    6. Some Implications:
      • We are listening in to a conversation between God and his creation.
      • Before you can know what a Bible passage means for you, you have to know what it meant to someone else.
      • We have to take the context of a Bible passage seriously if we are to understand it.
      • The purpose of the Bible is not to give you wise words to guide your daily life!
    7. Creation We are living in a real world
    8. Fall Bad things happen to good people
    9. Incarnation God is involved in this world
    10. Redemption God’s grace changes everything
    11. Future Hope It will all work out in the end
    12. Jesus Christ is at the centre of it all
    13. The Purpose of the Bible: To show us why we need Jesus and to point us to Him.
