9. What is confirmation?
The purpose of confirmation is to help student discern
and articulate their personal faith and to facilitate
their full incorporation as members of DPC through
experiences and instruction focused on Scripture, the
beliefs of our faith tradition, the nature of the church
and the shape of the Christian life.
10. Discuss for 5 minutes
each
personal faith: What has shaped your personal
faith? What has been your faith journey? What shaped
your childhood faith? What does it mean for a student
to articulate their faith?
full incorporation as members: What organizations
are you a member of? What does it mean for you to
be member for the organization?
Christian life: What does the Christian life look like?
How do you live out the Christian life in your own life?
11. Discuss for 5 minutes
What was your own confirmation experience like?
What do you remember from you own experience?
12. What do we do in the
confirmation process?
Reflect on our own personal faith
Reflect and read God’s story
Reflect on the Great Ends of church or the purposes
of the church.
13. Reflect on our faith
Teens will be required to write their own statement of
faith.
14. Reflect on God’s Story

We encourage parents and teenagers to read this
