2. MY MAIN FOCUS WILL BE ON
GENDER
Mise en scene:
Props:- I used a gun, car and a chair in my film opening as it creates the effect of strong and brave. As my film genre
is a gangster style there it create the idea that this is a mans world since there are no women in my film, also represent
men in the traditional view as its mostly man who carries gun.
Costume:- The costume I used in my film is a black long coat and a grey coat, black trousers and black shoes. This create
the idea that man are aggressive sex which is shown in the black jacket.
3. Setting:- For my setting I decided to set it outside a building, as this create the roles of men as the head of the family or the
family provider, the building represents a workplace which is a traditional view on men as they are the ones to be working
rather than women.
Actors:- For my actors I used a 2 different characters image that you will normally see in most
gangsters film. The creates the idea of man are more dominate that women.
4. Lighting:- I used as low level lightening as to create the idea that men are brave, as in a traditional view you will not see a
lady out in the dark compared to men as its quite normal for them to stay out in the dark.
Editing:- During editing I was able to create the idea of how man are viewed in a tradition way
such as strong, brave emotionless and powerful. I choose some clips and put them together to
be able to portray this to my audience.
5. Sound:- I uses a tense music as it builds up tension in my opening. This creates the idea about man not been able to open up
rather they keep it to themselves and later allows it to exposed, compared to women who are very emotion and like to open
and chat about issues that they are not happy with.
Camera movement:- I used a panning movement to follow my characters from right to left as it shows the audience where
they are heading to. This creates the idea of how man are always working and are motivated.
