2. Maybrooke Manor has been blessed with this cross: battle winning luck and prayer to defeat the opponent. This relic is much more powerful than the walls, trenches, weapons and hosts of soldiers of our opponent and should also ensure us a DEFEAT. Relic
4. Mounted Knights 1 mounted knight = 10 unmounted serfs Serfs (when needed) Lord of the manor (when needed) Archers Axmen Swordsmen Army (foot soldiers) Other Knights with specific training in the use of a certain weapon. The Line-Up
6. Motte High structure, will keep off invaders If one attempts to climb it, they will most likely slip and go tumbling vigorously down towards the earth, and injure themselves. If invaders are successful on climbing to the top, they will be fooled to find that this is a completely stone castle and is solid throughout. They will then be perplexed and have a struggling time climbing down. It will also give a perfect time to ambush. The real planning room will be underground (under the Motte.)
7. Donjon (Keep) 2 Keeps 1 = holding invaderโs hostage during battle 1 = containing ย theย armory, food, and the mainย water well This will ENSURE survival during an attack
8. Battlements Give further protection Missiles and Snipers are kept hidden, ready at any moment to fire. Gives full view of battle field, can plot attacks quickly.
9. Curtain Wall Fronted by aย ditchย or moat (composed human waste/foul water) to make assault difficult. Moat is 50ft deep and 45ft wide, and encompasses castle making assault difficult Built exceptionally high Further protection
10. Gatehouse Invaders will have a difficult time even ENTERING the manor. Will give the Lord time to plan an unexpected battle routine.
13. Siege Weapons- Ballista Ballista- an ancient military weapon used for throwing stones or other objects. This was essentially a giant crossbow used to break down the walls of an opposing castle.
14. Siege Weapons- Trebuchet Trebuchet- a medieval war engine used for slinging stones or other heavy objects. These were similar to a modern-day wrecking ball (on a smaller scale), and were used to weaken walls of the oppositionโs castle.
15. Siege Weapons- Battering Ram Battering Ram- an ancient military engine used to batter down walls and other buildings This usually followed the ballista and/or the trebuchet, and it broke down the oppositionโs forces even more.
17. Armor All of Maybrookeโs fighters have armor with chainmail underneath their suits of armor. They were all equipped with some weapon and a shield. All horses are protected in suits of armor as well. Example of chainmail Horse Armor Example of Maybrookeโs shield
19. In defense, we have a stone wall surrounding our manor. At each corner of the wall, there are towers that enable archers to fire from above. In the front, right tower, there is a trebuchet, a deadly siege engine. The gate keep also has an arrow slit, where arrows can leave with out providing a return route. Inside the wall, a deep moat awaits any trespassers. Inside the manor, there are towers containing essential supplies in the occurrence of a siege, including food and a well. Defending our manor are the knights and serfs of Maybrooke Manor. As we are currently in the kings favor, he has granted us the use of 3 legions of his army, to use at our disposal. We have also secured all livestock and non essential peasant folk inside the manor walls, so that you cannot use our animals to feed your stomachs. Battle Technique for Defense
20. It is also to be noted that a plague of termites sweeps the Manor at the time of your attack. The majority of our weapons are metal, as is our trebuchet. We are only minorly affected by this plague, whereas the use of many of your weapons are impossible. The plague also rots the nearby trees in the forest, preventing you from making a battering ram from its wood. Whatโs more, we shall be befouling your source of water with human and animal waste (as we have brought the animals within the walls, there is quite a lot of it). If you use the stream on our manor, outside the manor walls, this shall be easier. However, it will also be a simple matter to infiltrate your camps and foul any other water source you may be using. Battle Technique for Defense
21. Should we be forced to retreat temporarily inside our walls, we shall leave a surprise for you in the morning. You shall see the faces of your fallen comrades impaled on a spear, left in the center of you camp. Finally, we have a tunnel, its entrance being within the manor walls, and its exit in the forest beyond. This tunnel shall be used in the case of a siege. Battle Technique for Defense
23. We advance in a U formation, with our mounted knights with lances, spearmen, and pike men on the outside of the U. They arrive on Clydesdales, the strongest and most durable horses. After these warriors come footmen from the kingโs army armed with swords, maces, flails, knives, daggers, axes, and spears. In the middle of the U, is our siege engine, surrounded on all sides by serfs, who have been provided each with some limited armor. Bringing up the rear are archers, using both long and cross bows. Should the enemy manor attempt to come on our army from behind, the archers will be ready. Otherwise, they shall cover the battle from behind. Battle Technique for Offense
24. We will live off of the other manorโs land, eating their livestock, hunting game in their forests, etcetera. While the bulk of our army and knights come for a frontal attack, others have been stationed to come at the back two corners of the manor. While the majority of our forces test the prevails over yours at the head of the manor, requiring the use of all of your men, as with our aid from the king you are out numbered, we sneak in from behind with ladders to scale the manor walls. Once inside, we kill the lord and his family, then open the gates to the battle all but won by us already. AND WE HAVE WON!!!! Battle Technique for Offense
26. Other Weapons We also have -swords -knives -daggers -axes -spears -maces -flails -long bows -cross bows -lances Swords Mace Cross Bow Lance
27. Other Advantages Most of our weapons are made of metal. While that may be more expensive, they are safe from the termites we have unleashed on your weapons, which are all wood! All soldiers (including serfs) have armor. This means that they are well protected from invaders. We have allies in other classes and this one. YOU SHOULD BE SCARED! Our lord, Yolande, has several armed and experienced guards surrounding her at all times. Yes, all times. Each one is superior to any opposition, which makes taking any hostages impossible.
28. As you can see from our battle plans, we are superior to the opposition.
