5 Ways to Make Your Next Giveaway Interactive
1.
2. One of the things that make promotional
products so powerful is their ability to impact
brand recall. Did you know that 76% of those
who receive a promotional product are able
to recall the name of the advertiser who gave
it to them? That’s a big deal to advertisers! In
today’s world there are a lot of distractions
around us at all times making it harder than
ever to get the attention of our consumers,
but by making our message as interactive as
the devices in their hands, advertisers have a
better chance at establishing a connection.

4. Photo booths are becoming more and more popular, and people love
them! You don’t need fancy technology to get attendees to take a
photo at your booth! Provide a poster or a cardboard cut-out for
attendees to pose with and have them either take their own selfie and
tweet or email you the photo in order to receive a giveaway or use
your own technology such as a laptop and a camera and take the
photos yourself and then share them via social media or through
email. Not only will this provide you with some great user generated
content to use at a later date, but it is also a fun and memorable
experience for the attendee.
5. Have attendees spin a wheel for a great prize, answer an
industry related trivia question or solve a puzzle in
exchange for a fun giveaway. You can make or purchase
props to execute your game to make it affordable for your
brand, and you will have a great time getting to know your
visitors in the process.
6. At the last conference that I
attended, I followed a few of the
vendors that had booths sent up in
the main conference hall on Twitter
to learn more about them. After
doing so, I realized that so many
booths were doing giveaways via
Twitter! Vendors were tweeting a
specific time to come to their booth,
and they were giving the first 20 or
50 people who showed up a special
giveaway like a t-shirt or a nice travel
mug. This is a great way to create
hype about your booth and works
especially well if you have a way to
connect with attendees prior to the
event.
7. Find a way to demonstrate your product or service from your booth instead of
just telling people about it. This may seem like a practical suggestion, but many
people do not truly take advantage of it when it can be so powerful. For
example, never in my life have I gotten a massage, but at a recent Crestline
wellness fair, there was a local vendor giving out free 5-minute chair massages
to anybody that wanted one. They also gave away a coupon, and since then I’ve
thought about making an appointment multiple times, something that I had
never considered before. Find a way for attendees to test drive your product or
service and then reward them for doing so with a relevant giveaway.
8. Make your booth or display the place to get
power! At trade shows, conferences and event
events like local fairs, it pays to have power.
Create charging stations so people can keep their
devices juiced and stay connected. Offer adaptors
or charging cords as giveaways so that if people
forgot to bring them, you really look like the hero.
While they are there getting power, try to get to
know them a little bit, share your product or
service with them and just have fun!
