Editor's Notes

  1. Discuss where Creek View is located in Fulton County. It’s a large elementary school.
  2. All tests include Math, Reading and Language Arts in First and Second grades, and Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies in grades 3-5. As shown by the data, Creek View students perform better than the Fulton County and Georgia on 2009 CRCT tests.
  3. Pause to let partners or tables discuss. Call on a few to share.
  4. While we have 96% of our student population meeting and exceeding standards on the Reading/ Language Arts CRCT, we are lagging behind other elementary schools in the area.
  5. While we have 92% of our student population meeting and exceeding standards on the Math CRCT, we are lagging behind other elementary schools in this area as well.
  6. What trends or patterns do you observe for Reading/ Language Arts?
  7. What trends or patterns do you observe for Math? We’ve looked at Math and Reading/Language Arts scores separately, so lets compare them.
  8. After looking at this graph, we can see that we have more students who did not meet the standards for the 2009 Math CRCT. Let’s use data to drill down and see exactly which student groups are struggling on the Math CRCT.
  9. Keep in mind that a student may fall into more than one subgroup category (ie…John Doe could be identified as SEC and economically disadvantaged).
  10. Do you think the fluctuation in percentages is statistically significant when analyzing the data over the past three years?
  11. Which schools do you think are most applicable for comparison with Creek View? Any observations that you would like to share based on your analysis of this data? This data is useful for our 2nd and 3rd grade staff.
  12. Which schools do you think are most applicable for comparison with Creek View? Any observations that you would like to share based on your analysis of this data? This data is useful for our 4th and 5th grade staff.
  13. What content area and grade level surfaces as a possible concern/area of interest based on this data?
