    1. 1. The tradition of the “truce” or “Ekecheiria” was established in ancient Greece inthe 9 th century B.C by signing of a treaty among three kings. As the opening ofthe games approached , the sacred truce was proclaimed and announced by citizens of Elis who travelled throughout Greece to pass on the Message.
    2. 2. Olympic truce is the movement of universal ceasefire to hostilities which beginson the 7 th day prior to the initiation of the Olympic games and lasts till the 7 thday following completion of the game. This movement affords the opportunity for peaceful resolutions within regions in conflict with each other throughout the duration of the “Olympiads” that is the time period between the games and the conditions necessary for a truce stemming from athletics culture and the promotion of the Olympic ideals.

Olympic truce is the movement that is for universal ceasefire to hostilitiesbeginning on the 7 th day prior to the initiation of the Olympic games and lasting until the 7 th day flowing completion of the games.A movement which affords the opportunity for peaceful resolutions within regions in conflict A movement that will contain throughout the duration of the “Olympiads” that is the time period between the games and the conditions necessary for a truce stemming from athletics culture and the promotion of the Olympic ideals.
    4. 4. Mobilize youth for the promotionof the Olympic ideals. Use sports to establish contacts between communities in conflict. Offer humanitarian support to countries at war.Create a window of opportunities fordialogue and reconciliation.
