1. Setting up your student email
account
Your email will take the form of
STUDENTID@student.citybathcoll.ac.uk
Why use Student Email?
• Your email is the default contact address used for Moodle,
Library notices and your Athens account
• You can have Email attachments up to 10Mb
• You get email storage space of 25Gb, with free online access to
Microsoft Office 2010 web apps: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Your email account will not receive any advertising from
Microsoft or associated companies.
• Up-to-date news on college events & activities

2. Signing in to Student Email
Go to http://portal.office365.com
Enter your student email address in the format
StudentID@student.citybathcoll.ac.uk .
The password is your current College log-in password
Note: If you change your College password it can take up to 3
hours to take effect on your Student Email account
Hint: UNTICK the “Keep
me signed in” option
to improve the
security of you Student
Email account.

3. Forwarding your Student Email
to another email account
To forward incoming messages from your Student Email to
another email account:
Log in to your Student Email account
Click Options > Account > Connected Accounts.
Under Forwarding, enter the email address of the account you
want all email to be forwarded to.
If you want to keep copies of messages that are sent to your
account, select Keep a copy of forwarded messages in Outlook
Web App.
Click Save to save your changes and start forwarding all
incoming messages to the other account.

4. Further information
If you forget the password you have set for
your Student Email address, you will be able
to reset it by clicking on Can’t access your
account? link and following the instructions,
or by contacting ICT Services.
