What: Prom Goes Green event with more than 1,500 gently-used prom
dresses to be given away for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
When: Saturday, April 6, 2013 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Malcom X College Sports Complex, 1900 W. Van Buren St., Chicago, IL
Why: Hundreds of thousands of new dresses are purchased every year for
high school homecoming and prom dances only to be left in a closet, never to
be worn again, or simply thrown away. USAgain’s mission to divert clothes &
shoes from landfills extends to these dresses, too! Let’s reuse and recycle!
How: Bring a valid student ID and an old shirt for USAgain to recycle.
