2. Le Petit Lune theater floor plan. Upon entering
the theater, there are two floor changes in a circular
pattern to bring the essence of being on stage in a
literal and physical sense. The bar is centrally
located beyond a partition to add emphasis as well
as separate it from the entrance in a visual context.

7. Design Concept
The inspiration for the design of this
chair was conceived during a trip to the
Como Park Conservatory in Minnesota.
The words that I chose for this chair to
reflect were:
-organic
-avant garde
-reflection
The design carries these words in its
concept and form. The intention was to
create a chair that I had not seen
before, either through shape or material
uses.
My chair is constructed out of seven
layers of bendable plywood, that first
were glued together and then placed
over a form made of foam, it was then
placed in a vacuum bag for twelve
hours, over the foam form as to take on
the shape of the form.
A clear piece of 3/4” plexi glass was fit
and cut to take the weight of a human
body. This further emphasizes a feeling
of weightlessness and softness.

10. The intent of this project was to choose a time period or style
within the course outline to construct and replicate a model.
I chose a Japanese tea house, because I was inspired by the simplicity
and tranquility of this particular style. The inspiration for this particular
model was taken from a single room in the Himeji Castle built by the
Akamatsu warrior family in the fourteenth century.
This model is constructed with foam core and balsa wood. The tatami
mats are made from wall coverings and the outdoor scene that is
painted on the walls was done by hand with acrylic paint.
