21. MAKING THIS CHANGE EASIER First-Time Homebuyer Individual Income Tax Credit This federal tax credit is available to first-time homebuyers in the District of Columbia. In general, you may claim the credit if: You purchased a main house during the tax year in the District of Columbia, and You (and your spouse, if married) did not own any other main home in the District of Columbia during the 1-year period ending on the date of purchase. For example, a one person household earning $56,000 or less can receive Closing Cost Assistance of $8,000.

Buildings can qualify for four levels of certification: Certified - 40 - 49 points Silver - 50 - 59 points Gold - 60 - 79 points Platinum - 80 points and above We purchased a Gold LEED Certified building and we are building out at the Platinum level.
