The stress from living in an unbelieving world has a way of bringing out the worse in a person so in 1 Peter, chapter three verses 8-9, Peter encourages believers in the local church not to bite and devour one another because of the stress they were under. And since stress also has a way of seeping into the home and affecting the marriage relationship Peter writes to address those who were married and give them some bricks…not to throw at each other, but to build a solid structure or foundation for the marriage and the family to rest upon…a firm foundation that would withstand the turbulent winds of problems related to miscommunication, money, mothers-in-law, children and sex. Government oppression: “…submit
yourselves to every ordinance of man for the
Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,

the will of God, that by doing good you may
put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.”

know that the word “obeyed” in the
Greek is in the constative aorist which
speaks of an action going on over a
long period of time, looking at the
action from one single panoramic view.

wants a strong marriage and wants
to do the Lord’s will. Do the Lord’s
