3. The site is located approximately 50km south east of Brisbane in
Cleveland. The nearest relevant weather station for comparative
analysis is 606554 – Manly.
The site dry bulb temperatures are predominantly between 18-24C with
peaks of up to 31C (Jan) and lows of 6C (May). Diurnal (day vs night)
swing is limited to 6-10C all year round. Direct solar is 800 w/m2 in
summer, and never below 600 w/m2. There is high humidity all year
round, particularly in the morning. Suggest ensure good ventilation
flow year round to avoid internal mould issues.

4. Annually the most frequent winds are from a southerly direction
at a 6-7 knots. The strongest infrequent winds are 20 knot
westerly - typical in September.
Isolation of the afternoon winds (12-5pm) shows predominantly 5-
10 Knot north and easterlies as would be expected due to the sea
breeze. Isolation of summer months only shows dominance from the
south-easterly direction. Suggest targeting cross-ventilation
with lead openings on NE façade where possible.

The developed H shaped mass model shows improved limiting of summer gain all
year round, except on eastern 45 deg slices. Winter sun to inner courtyard
will be very little. Suggestion would be to reduce the north-west overhang.
