Our school in San Juan del Puerto

  1. 1. DIEGO RODRÍGUEZ DE ESTRADA SECONDARY SCHOOL <ul><li>There are nearly 400 students and 35 teachers in our school. </li></ul><ul><li>School starts at 8:30 and finishes at 15.00. </li></ul><ul><li>There are students from 11 to 18 years old. </li></ul><ul><li>This is the first year you can study baccalaureate (Sixth form). Previously, students had to go to Huelva to continue their post-compulsory Secondary Education. </li></ul><ul><li>We are working in a bilingual programme and our 1st year of Compulsory Secondary Education students will have some History and Science lessons in English next year. </li></ul>
  2. 2. THE PLAYGROUND <ul><li>The break is at half past eleven. </li></ul><ul><li>The students go to the playground, play football, basketball and volleyball, have their sandwiches, chat or go to the café. </li></ul><ul><li>The break lasts only 30 minutes. </li></ul>
  3. 3. THE COMPUTER ROOM <ul><li>In the high school, there is a computer room. In it, we practise lots of activities: </li></ul><ul><li>We write letters. </li></ul><ul><li>We prepare a lot of compositions and works. </li></ul><ul><li>We create a lots of presentations in the computers, too. </li></ul><ul><li>We learn computer science. </li></ul><ul><li>We can't study this subject until 4 th year of Secondary Education. </li></ul>
  4. 4. THE LANGUAGE ROOM <ul><li>The language room is not very big, but it is very nice. In this classroom, we learn English and French. The English classroom is new and has a cork around it. </li></ul><ul><li>It has got a blackboard, thirty tables and chairs and a television where we see the videos in English and many other things. </li></ul><ul><li>It is next to the café and classrooms of 4 th year of Secondary Education. You can see the playground from it. The English classroom is located in the heart of the school. </li></ul>
  5. 5. THE CAFÉ <ul><li>In the high school, there is a café, too. We go there every day at 11:30 pm, the break time. In it, we drink cola-cao (hot chocolate), coffee... We buy sandwiches too. In the café, the teachers eat their breakfast. </li></ul><ul><li>There is also a TV where we watch comedies and cartoons. The cartoons are very boring. </li></ul><ul><li>In the café, there a lots of paintings and flowerpots. The waiters are very funny and cheerful. </li></ul>
  6. 6. THE CANTEEN <ul><li>In our high school there is a canteen. Every day students go there at three o´clock. </li></ul><ul><li>There, we usually have for lunch: potatoes, omelette, macaroni, fish and chicken and chips. </li></ul><ul><li>Our favourite food is chicken and chips. It is delicious. </li></ul><ul><li>We also watch film in this room. </li></ul><ul><li>At half past four, slow learners and students with doubts can have extra lessons two days a week. This is a programme called PROA . </li></ul>

SPORT CENTRE <ul><ul><li>Next to the high school, there is a sport centre where we practice a lots of sports: basketball, football, tennis, rugby, kin-ball and volleyball. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We enjoy playing with our friend. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We have to have a shower after the lesson. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We will have swimming lessons this year. </li></ul></ul>
