Jallikattu Bullfight Of South India Old. - Presentation Transcript
A kind of bull-fight, called the 'Jallikattu' is held in Madhurai, Tiruchirapalli and Tanjore in Tamil Nadu,on the fourth day of the harvest festival..Pongal.
Bundles containing money are tied to the horns of ferocious bulls, and unarmed villagers try to wrest the bundles from them.
Jallikattu' or bull fight' played in Madurai, Trichy areas are more ferocious than …..
… .the bull fight which is the beloved sport of Latin speakers in Europe and south America.
People from near by villages assemble in the place where the event is held .
The bamboo scaffoldings can hardly stand the charging bull…yet the curious onlookers never take it seriously .
This sport (I wonder if it can be called a sport at all!) is generally compared with that of Spanish bull fight. But I see a lot of difference between the two. Decide for yourself after seeing this video.
