1. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
We extremely thankful to Allah Almighty, who blessed us and have mercy and kindness in our
way to complete this project because nothing can be do without his blessings. We also thankful
to Sir Muhammad Imran, who gave us a project through which we come to know Management
in real terms. We also thank the HR manager of TOPS Mr. Syed IslamAli who gave us his
precious time for the interview. We really found him much cooperative and we really gain the
knowledge of management the real world with the help of his experience which he shared with
us.
At the end, I want to thank of my group member who coordinated with me in many ways.
Without his support it seems. We personally met the HR MANAGER of TOPS. During all this
process we faced some problems. But those problems were solved by the will of ALLAH and our
Holy Prophet (PBUH) and we were able to complete.
COMMUNICATION:
Communication is the exchange of ideas, opinion and information though written or spoken
words, symbols and action.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION:
Business Communication is any communication use with promote a product, service or
organization with object of making sale.
Company Introduction:
Murree Brewery is the maker of Pakistanās premier beer brand Murree Beer. Its product are
only legally available in Pakistan owing to a prohibition on the exportation of alcohol from
Pakistan. The brewery has two manufacturing units located in Rawalpindi and Hattar. The
murree Brewery produces a wide variety of Beerās, Liquorās and nonalcoholic products. Our
premium products include Murreeās Millennium Beer, Murreeās Beer, Lite Export Pills. Murree
Brewery was established in 1860 in response to ever increasing demand for beer by the
personal of the British Raj and is currently the oldest continuing enterprise in Pakistan.
2. Tops foods and Beverages a division of the company was established in 1969. It processes fruits
and markets fruit juices and allied food products. Two manufacturing units are located in
Rawalpindi and Hattar KPK. In 1885 & 1890 the Company established Breweries in Rawalpindi &
Quetta & acquired an interest in the Oticumand (South India) & Norailiya (Ceylon) breweries.
A distillery was also establishedin the above period in Rawalpindi next to the Brewery. The
Murree Brewery at Ghora Galli wastherefore among the first modern beer breweries
established in Asia. Murree Beer proved to be verypopular among the British troopers who
were largely barracked in the 'Galis' of these hills. The virtues ofbeer brewed from barley malt
& hops as a light alcoholic beverage were not lost on the local populationwho rapidly became
avid consumers. By the turn of the 20 century, the name "Murree" was famous forits beer in
keg and bottle in the bars, beer halls and army messes of British India. Murree Beer was first
awarded a medal for product excellence at the Philadelphia Exhibition in 1876, followed by
numerous awards over the past140 years. In 1935, a massive earthquake totally demolished
the Quetta brewery as well as substantial part of Quetta town, killing thousands of persons,
including a number of our employees. At Ghora Galli (Murree), the scarcity of water became an
emerging problem. By the 1920s,brewing was mostly transferred to the Rawalpindi brewery but
malting continued at Ghora Galli till the1940s, when this property was sold. This historic
brewery built in Gothic style architecture was burnt during the partition riots of 1947/48.Park
Lodge a handsome residential property was purchased by the company from Mrs. H. Whimper
in 1888. It was the principal residence and head office of the company till 1959, when it was
taken over by the Government of Pakistan to house the office of the President of Pakistan. It
remains an office of the Head of State of Pakistan from 1960 till the present day. Two English
families were closely connected with the founding of the original brewery. Edward Dyer was
the first General Manager of the company. He was also the founder of Dyer Meaken breweries,
Selma hills. Edward Whimper, a member of this family was the first person to climb Matterhorn
Mountain in 1865.The Rawalpindi brewery is blessed with deep aquifers of good water. A
railway siding was extended to the premises in the 19th century, which is now derelict. Under
the present prohibition law, only non-Muslims and foreigners are permitted to consume
alcohol. Notwithstanding the consequent reduction in demand, the Company decided as policy
to concentrate on product excellence. It was decided to modernize the plants. A Zeeman
(German) brew house was installed in 1967, 'Saladin' Box Maltings in 1971. Also in the late
sixties, it was decided to embark on an ambitious long-term program to mature Malt Whiskies.
Over the past four decades white oak casks and vats have been procured from North America,
Australia and Spain Our two underground cellars now hold over half a million liters of Malt
Whisky for varying periods of maturation up to 12 years under controlled temperature
conditions. Another wave of modernization was undertaken in the 1990s. New beer canning
and modern bottle filling facility from Holstein and Kappert (Germany) was installed. Two units
of alcohol rectification columns for producing extra neutral grade of potable alcohol from
3. Molasses were procured from France and Italy, respectively, to give our Vodkas and Gins a
qualitative edge. Also in this period, the beer fermentation capacities were renewed. It is
pertinent to point out that our basic beer fermentation system installed in the1930s was then
at the cutting edge of this technology. Known at the time as the Nathan system, it incorporates
fermentation and the laagering of beer in a single double jacketed vessel. A variation of this
system is now in extensive use worldwide.
MANUFACTURING:
Manufacturing is the use of machines, tools and labors to make things for use or scale. The
term may refer to a range of human activity, from handicraft to high tech, but is most
commonly applied to industrial production, in which raw materials are transformed into
finished goods on a large scale.

INTERNAL COOMUNCATION:
Internal is communication between members of the same organization. Internal
communication is the transmission of information between organizational members or parts of
the organization. It takes place across all levels and organizational units of an organization.
EXTERNAL COMMUNCATION:
External is communication between organization and other organization or individuals.
External communication is the transmission of information between a business and another
person or entity in the companyās external environment. Examples of these people and entities
include customers, potential customers, suppliers, investors, shareholders and society at large.

5. VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION
VERBAL COMMUNCATION:
The sharing of information between individuals by using speech, Individuals working with in
a business need to effectively use verbal communication that employees readily understood
spoken words as well as ensuring that the enunciation stress and tone of voice.

Non-Verbal communication without words, It includes apparent behaviors such as

7. Seven Cās
The message is said to be effective when the receiver understands the same meaning
that the sender was intended to convey. For any communication in business, in order to
be effective, it must have seven qualities. These seven attributes are called seven Cās
of effective business communication. (All these attribute starts with the alphabet āCā
so are called 7 Cās)
Seven Cās of Effective Business Communication

3. Conciseness
4. Completeness
5. Consideration
6. Concreteness
7. Courtesy
1. Correctness:
At the time of encoding, if the encoder has comprehensive knowledge about the
decoder of message, it makes the communication an ease. The encoder should know
the status, knowledge and educational background of the decoder. Correctness
means:
ļ§ Use the right level of language
ļ§ Correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation
ļ§ Accuracy in stating facts and figures
Correctness in message helps in building confidence.
2. Clarity:
Clarity demands the use of simple language and easy sentence structure in composing
the message. When there is clarity in presenting ideas, itās easy for the
receiver/decoder to grasp the meaning being conveyed by the sender/encoder.
Clarity makes comprehension easier.
8. 3. Conciseness:
A concise message saves time of both the sender and the receiver. Conciseness, in a
business message, can be achieved by avoiding wordy expressions and repetition.
Using brief and to the point sentences, including relevant material makes the message
concise. Achieving conciseness does not mean to lose completeness of message.
Conciseness saves time.
4. Completeness:
By completeness means the message must bear all the necessary information to
bring the response you desire. The sender should answer all the questions and with
facts and figures. and when desirable, go for extra details.
Completeness brings the desired response.
5. Consideration:
Consideration demands to put oneself in the place of receiver while composing a
message. It refers to the use of You attitude, emphases positive pleasant facts,
visualizing readerās problems, desires, emotions and his response.
Consideration means understanding of human nature.
9. 6. Concreteness:
Being definite vivid and specific rather than vague obscure and general leads to
concreteness of the message. Facts and figures being presented in the message
should be specif.
Concreteness reinforces confidence.
7. Courtesy:
In business, almost everything starts and ends in courtesy. Courtesy means not only
thinking about receiver but also valuing his feelings. Much can be achieved by using
polite words and gestures, being appreciative, thoughtful, tactful, and showing respect
to the receiver. Courtesy builds goodwill.

11. PEST ANALYSIS:
Politicalfactors:
ā¢ Government regulations regarding employee hygiene, health and food regulations,
food standards, etc.
ā¢ Government policies regarding the restaurant industry and managing eateries. These may
include licenses, inspections by health and food departments, etc.
Economic factors:
ā¢ Interest rates would affect the cost of capital, the rate of interest being directly
proportionate to the cost of capital.
ā¢ Rate of inflation determines the rate of remuneration for employees and directly affects
the price of the restaurant's products. Again, the proportion between the inflation rate
and wages/prices is direct.
ā¢ Economic trends act as an indicator of the sustainability and profitability of your
business in the chosen region and help you in deciding your marketing strategy.
Socialfactors:
ā¢ Eating habits of the people in your chosen business environment may, and certainly will,
affect your marketing decisions.
