Monday
A- *doesn't change from main objective*
S- Fifth grade students will watch an introductory video on Ancient Egypt to get the lesson started
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the geography of Egypt by drawing a map of Egypt which will be
provided in class/on Smart Board, and plotting where the current Capitol is and marking cities and bodies of water.
Students will then illustrate the distance from where they are, to Egypt using a map to scale (from West Virginia to
Egypt- 6,101 miles) by using maps provided.
Lastly, students will create a double timeline of the major events in Ancient Egypt and the major events that have
happened in their lives.
This is to show how many things happened in Egypt in a small amount of time.
They will create this using printer paper taped together, and we will post on walls outside of classroom.
For example:
|---------------First Settlers (year)------First Stone Pyramid Built (year)-----|---------------Birth (year)-----------------Important Event in Life (year)----Students will create a Digital Story using Webcam media and YouTube to upload. Students will create a timeline of
Egypt using facts they choose.
Students will accomplish all of the above by the end of the day with 100% accuracy.
