2. Background Noise
• Background noise can come from anything
such as people, music etc. these sorts of
things can make people easily distracted and
then they wont be able to pay attention to
what they are doing.
• In order to overcome this the person should
move somewhere where they wont be able to
hear any background noise so they can get on
with what ever they are doing.
3. Distractions
• Some people can be easily distracted for example
when the person is trying to listen to someone if
they are playing on their phones or on the
computer anything the person says will go in one
ear and out the other and they will not be able to
remember anything the person has said to them.
• In order to overcome these distractions the
person should make sure they don’t mess about
and they concentrate when people are talking to
them.
4. Lack of Concentration
• Everyone’s concentration levels are different
some people have a very high level of
concentration while others have a low level so
therefor they must make sure their intake of
information is at there right level otherwise they
will find themselves not concentration and not
understanding what is going on.
• People who lack concentration will have poor
listening skills so to overcome this you have to
make sure they understand what you are saying
to them.
5. Eye Contact
• Keep eye contact with someone is very
important if you are trying to have a
conversation with them, if you are not keeping
eye contact you will find yourself getting
distracted and not paying attention to what is
being said.
• In order to overcome this make sure you are
not distracted and keep eye contact with the
person you are talking too.
6. Information Overload
• If someone is giving you a presentation and
are giving you too much information in a short
space of time the person will not be able to
absorb all of the information at once because
its too much for them to take it. This can be
overcome by not giving too much information
but instead using bullet points and key points
this will allow them to absorb the information
at their own pace.
7. Poor Timing
• Poor timing can be bad if someone is in the
middle of a meeting or saying something that
is important.
• In order to overcome this think before you
speak, think about what you have to say and if
it is really important.
8. Poor Proofreading
• This is bad if you give someone your work to
be proofread and they make an error while
reading it. This can result in you failing or
having to redo the piece of work.
• In order to overcome this make sure the
person knows how to proofread and mark,
they can find websites on the internet that will
show them how to proofread.
9. Presentation May Crash
• Your presentation may crash and this could be
hard to get it back up and running.
• In order to overcome this make sure you have
key notes printed out on paper so you can
carry on without the presentation.
