- University offers a range of programs to doctorate and post doctorate levels in the disciplines of Engineering, Education, Social Sciences, Architecture, Business, Informatics. METU has 39 undergraduate programs carried out by 37 departments within 5 faculties . Additionally, there are 4 Graduate Schools with 59 programs and a "School of Foreign Languages" which includes the English Preparatory Department. Being a university with an international perspective, over 5% of the faculty is formed of visiting staff from abroad. Each year, approximately the same percentage of the Turkish faculty goes to foreign universities or research institutes as visiting faculty or researchers. Around 70% of METU's full-time faculty has studied abroad and most of these have obtained their doctorate degrees at a foreign university. Scientific research activities are central to the university mission, combining excellence with real world issues. Within the broad strategic research units of the university some selected centers are marine sciences institute, CAD/CAM and robotics, welding technology, central Asian countries, earthquake engineering, soil mechanics, transportation, biotechnology, geology and geophysics, biomedical. In addition to 150 laboratories, there is a main laboratory project of 20 million USD to be finished by the year 2003.
- The property ship rights of the METU-Technopolis development region belongs to METU The total land dedicated for the development of MT is about 700.000 square meters. According to Physical Master plan 200.000 square meters out of these 700.000 is for office space enlargement. Being environmentally concerned The university and the management company emphasize on low density development in a high quality landscape.
