Unified Inbox is the answer for the above issues. You have one place where all the workflow
tasks and BPM tasks can be shown from a single UI5 view.

Mass complete tasks directly from the inbox
Mass Approval
Select tasks in the task table
Inbox enables only common actions which
can be executed on selected list of tasks.
Execute any enabled action to carry out the
mass action

Manage planned and unplanned absence through a substitute user
Create substitution rule options
Planned absence: “Automatic
Forwarding” set to “on” will make
the substitution active on the start
date for the substitute user.
Unplanned absence : “Automatic
Forwarding” set to “off” needs to be
activated by substitute user
explicitly. There is no start or end
specified for such a substitution
