Altofer:
Contain:
1) Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex= 100 mg ELEMENTAL IRON
It Benefit:
ABSTRACT The following review of iron(III)-hydroxide polymaltose complex (IPC,
Maltofer) shows that iron is significantly bioavailable after oral administration, especially
in iron-deficient subjects. Numerous clinical trials in men, women, children and infants
have shown that IPC is effective in treating iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). Due to its
kinetic properties, IPC is best given with meals, and probably in an iron dose slightly
higher than that of the classical iron salts. In terms of acceptance and patient compliance,
IPC presents a clear advantage over ferrous salts. Many studies have shown a lower rate
of treatment interruption with IPC than with ferrous salts. This is usually associated with
a lower incidence of adverse events related to the upper gastrointestinal tract.
2) Folic Acid
It Benefit: It help in better absorption of Iron in Body ( So less waste of Iron )

Altofer -C:
Contain:
Carbonyl Iron:
Carbonyl iron is a form of the mineral iron. Iron is important for many functions in the body,
especially for the transport of oxygen in the blood.
Carbonyl iron is used as a dietary supplement, and to prevent and to treat iron deficiencies and iron
deficiency anemia.
Carbonyl iron may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide

Altofer -XT
Contain:
Ferrous Ascorbate,+Folic Acid+Zinc Sulphate
Ferrous Ascorbate & Folic Acid, ensures superior absorbtion & better bioavailability.Ferrous
Ascorbate & Folic Acid, has additional Anti oxidant properties which ensures maximum iron
utilisation.
Ferrous ascorbate folic acid is a vital vitamin that helps a pregnant woman attains a good
health during the entire pregnancy. A pregnant woman is likely to become anemic during the
entire stage of conception and taking a ferrous ascorbate folic acid regularly or on a daily basis
would provide a pregnant woman the sufficient amount of iron and folic acid
Indication and Usage:
Pregnancy, Blood Loss, Lactation, Anemia and Epistaxis.
•*It has better tolerability in GIT
•*bIndicated in spina bifida
•* Indicated in pregnancy
•* Indicated in post operative traumatic injuries
•* indicated in Menorrhagia
•*Indicated in Lactation
•* Indicated in Blood loss.
•*Reduces cost of therapy
•*Ensures maximum iron utilisation.
•*Additional Anti oxidant properties
•*Ensures superior absorbtion & better bioavailability.
14. Folic Acid:
Folic Acid (also known as vitamin B9, vitamin Bc or folacin) and folate (the form naturally
occurring in the body), as well as pteroyl-L-glutamic acid, pteroyl-L-glutamate, and
pteroylmonoglutamic acid are forms of the water-soluble vitamin B9.Folic acid is used for
preventing and treating low blood levels of folic acid (folic acid deficiency), as well as its
complications, including "tired blood" (anemia) and the inability of the bowel to absorb
nutrients properly. Folic acid is also used for other conditions commonly associated with folic
acid deficiency, including ulcerative colitis, liver disease, alcoholism, and kidney dialysis.
Drug Interactions:
Ferrous Ascorbate:
Decreased absorption of both iron and the concomitantly administered drugs: Tetracycline,
Penicillamine, Methyldopa, Levodopa, Bisphosphonates, Quinolones and calcium. An interval of
2-3h between the iron intake and that of the above drugs is advised.
FolicAcid:
Folic acid, also known as Folate is a vitamin B which helps in preventing neural tube defects in
pregnancy. Essential for nucleoprotein synthesis. Avoids risk of stroke and heart disease in
elderly.
Zinc :
Zinc is a strong antioxidant which helps to strengthen the bodies immune system. Zinc is also
essential for wound healing, brain function and fertility. Zinc is a vital element for nucleic acid
synthesis therefore plays an important role in the maintenance of the DNA and regulation of
hormone levels.

AVOX:
Contain :
1) Amoxycillin
2) Potassium Clavulanate or Clavulanic Acid
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic. It fights bacteria in your body.
Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear
infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection.
Amoxicillin is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin
(Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination is
sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer called lansoprazole (Prevacid).
combined with penicillin group antibiotics to overcome certain types of antibiotic resistance. It
is used to overcome resistance in bacteria that secrete β-lactamase, which otherwise inactivates
most penicillins.
In its most common form, the potassium salt potassium clavulanate is combined with:
amoxicillin (co-amoxiclav, trade names Augmentin, Synulox [veterinary], and others) or
ticarcillin (co-ticarclav, trade name Timentin).
19. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium is approved for treating the above infections only when
they are caused by certain types of bacteria. Not all bacteria (and no viruses) will respond to the
medication. Also, bacteria have difference resistance patterns in different regions in the country.
This means that some bacteria may be susceptible to amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium in
certain parts of the country but not in others.
(This article discusses the approved uses of regular amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium only.
See the eMedTV articles on Augmentin ES uses and Augmentin XR uses for information about
these other amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium products.)
Overuse and inappropriate use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance. In order to prevent
this, "broad-spectrum" antibiotics (which are active against a wide range of bacteria) should not
be used to treat infections that could be treated by an antibiotic with a narrower spectrum of
activity. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium is usually considered a broad-spectrum antibiotic.
In addition, the drug should not be used unless tests have shown that a particular infection is
caused by bacteria that are susceptible to it or if there is reason to strongly suspect that the
bacteria are susceptible to the medication.
It is important to note that a high percentage of people with mononucleosis ("mono") who take
antibiotics similar to amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium develop a skin rash. Therefore, the
medication is not recommended for use in people with this condition.
