This document lists six people who were killed by their own inventions: Henry Winstanley who died in the collapse of the Eddystone Lighthouse he designed, Alexander Bogdanov who died from a blood transfusion from a student carrying malaria as part of his experiments, Cowper Phipps Coles who died in an explosion on his warship, Otto Lilienthal who died in a glider crash during his experiments with gliders, William Bullock who was crushed by his rotary printing press, and Thomas Midgley who contracted polio later in life believed to be linked to his work developing chlorofluorocarbons and leaded gasoline.
