country, however, has its own
qualities that will help expats decide

will find it easy to integrate, as most

Thailand, however, has been an expat
hotspot for a very long time. The
country is scenic, and there is a
welcoming feel among the public for
foreigners. Many of them were
fortunate enough to start a family in
the country, and are full-fledged Thais
by now.
Nonetheless, Thailand is still a
bachelor destination for expats
without kids. As the HSBC expat
survey showed in a survey a few
years ago, the Land of Smiles is quite
the destination for singles.

3. A Full Life
In Thailand, those who uproot themselves will find it easy to live. The HSBC survey showed
that finding accommodation, setting up health care and working was all doable for expats
in the country. Furthermore, foreigners are able to snag beautiful homes in picturesque
locations. Being a major tourist haven, it’s reasonable that Thailand can offer permanent
residence in their most tourist-friendly locations.
The issue of integration can be a little sore for people of African origins. A report published
last year expounds on the confusing view of black people in Thailand. In the article, the
police officer ceased to be aggressive only upon learning that the black woman he was
apprehending was an American. It seems that the accent, or at least grasp of the English
language, had something to with it. It doesn’t necessarily paint a bad picture, but it does
urge everyone to learn English before moving to the country.
Growing with the Country
Thailand is SE Asia’s second biggest economy, but they are in no way in the same league
as world powers. Still, they are on their way to the top. It’s remarkable how it’s possible to
live in the country for less, which is an expected part of expat life in Thailand.

4. Many people are in debt, but expats have the chance to go the other way and prosper.
Their money is worth more and they have the benefit of a fresh start, meaning they can
establish themselves in a growing economy.
Thailand is not the best country in the world by any measure. What they do have is peace,
wonderful people and a liking for fun. That’s an attractive offer that’s more valuable than
being the best.
