1. Crispy Pitas with
Red Pepper
This healthy food is perfect for your favorite
dip. These crispy pita chips make a lovely
accompaniment to any dip or spread and other
healthy meals.
Ingredients:
Pita bread (enough for desired amount of chip
wedges)
4-5 slices stale white bread, crust removed
and made into breadcrumbs
4 fire roasted canned red peppers, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1-1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
6 tablespoons canola oil
Directions:
1. For pita chips:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray
the desired amount of pita bread with
canola non-stick spray on both sides.
Cut into wedges and place on baking
sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, until crisp.
2. For Red Pepper Spread:
In a food processor, add all ingredients
except canola oil. Process until
blended. While drizzling in canola oil,
process until smooth. Serve with chips
and enjoy.
