The Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH) conducts the annual Point-in-Time Count (PITC) for San Diego County. This annual homeless census utilizes over 500 volunteers to assess homelessness on the street and in shelters, gathering critical demographic information. This information is reported to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and leads to millions in federal funds being allocated for local agencies. These funds allow our community to implement services and find solutions that enable individuals and families to leave the streets.
