Sports Law Presentation and its learning objectives
Fordham Sports Law Symposium 2008
1. The Fordham University Sports Law Forum is a scholarly organization dedicated to
the academic pursuit of emerging legal issues in the world of sports. The
Symposium unites legal practitioners and prominent figures in the sports industry
and offers CLE credits to any practicing attorney who attends.
The Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law (EASL) Section represents varied interests,
including some of the most exciting issues in the world of entertainment, arts, and
sports that are grabbing headlines, being debated in Congress, and being heard by
the courts. The EASL Section provides substantive case law, forums for discussion
and debate, and information-sharing in the EASL e-community.
The Twelfth Annual Symposium will feature three discussion panels, each addressing
a current issue in sports law. The panel topics are:
Financing and Structuring Acquisitions of Sports Teams and Stadiums
Sports Merchandising and Memorabilia
Amateurism and the NCAA
The Fordham University Sports Law Forum and EASL expect this year’s Symposium
to be an outstanding presentation of substantive legal issues in sports. Additionally,
we are very pleased to welcome President and CEO of the World Champion NY
Giants and Fordham Law alum John K. Mara, Esq. ’79 as our Keynote Speaker. We
hope you can join us.
