Human Trafficking: The Big

• 30 million slaves worldwide
• Mainly women and girls, but
men and boys are also sold
into slavery
• San Francisco & the Bay Area are one
of the FBI’s top 5 human trafficking
areas in the United States
• It has become the second-most
profitable industry
• 70% of slaves are women and
girls
• 50% of slaves are children
