What is “Title I”?
Funds to provide programs to help children who
are struggling in reading and math.
Extra help (in addition to what they learn during
math and reading time in the classroom)
Funding provided under No Child Left Behind
Types of Programs:
Schoolwide – all students
Targeted – students identified for the program
based on performance on assessments

Our district uses this curriculum:

8. Title I Assessments
Assessments are used to help teachers
determine if a student is understanding
the content presented in the classroom.
We use the following assessments for all
of our students:
Scantron Ed Performance K-5 (Reading,
Math, ELA and Science) Fall, Winter and
Spring
DIBELS – K-2 (Reading)
9. Proficiency Levels
If a child does not reach a certain
proficiency level when they take an
assessment, we consider them for
additional help from our Title I program.
The proficiency levels for our
assessments are:
Mastery of grade level assessments
High Average or Above Average Scantron
10. MEAP Proficiency Levels
Your child will be taking the MEAP in
grades 3-8.
Four Proficiency Levels for the MEAP
1- Advanced
2- Proficient
3- Partially Proficient
4- Not Proficient
Our goal (and the State’s goal) is for your
student to reach the “Proficient” (1 or 2) level on
the MEAP.

You will be notified of your child’s
assessment results. Timeline:
